Housed in a 1,000 year-old castle, the estate of Batterieberg (Cannon Hill) takes its

name from its vineyard that was created in the 19th century by blasting away a

mountainside with dynamite. The blasting echoed like 100 cannons in the valley and

revealed the pure blue slate that the vines grow in today. Detonation Riesling pays

homage to the vineyard created with dynamite.
